Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how UniSeek handles personal information when students, university representatives, and visitors use our websites, applications, communications, and related services. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use UniSeek, we may collect:

  • Account and contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, country, profile photo, and account role.
  • Education and preference information, including study interests, academic history, test information, saved items, comparison choices, enquiries, and application-related actions you choose to make.
  • Institution information supplied by university representatives, including institutional profile, programmes, scholarships, contacts, and supporting media.
  • Technical and activity information, such as device and browser details, IP address, sign-in and security events, page activity, and service diagnostics.
  • Communications you send to us, including support, verification, campaign, and account-management messages.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the basic identity information you authorize—normally your account identifier, name, email address, and profile image—so we can authenticate you and create or link your UniSeek account. UniSeek does not receive your Google password. We do not request access to unrelated Google services through this sign-in flow.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • create, secure, and support student and university accounts;
  • provide search, comparison, recommendation, and portal features;
  • process enquiries and actions you initiate;
  • verify institutions and protect the service from abuse or fraud;
  • operate billing, service communications, reporting, and support;
  • measure and improve service performance, reliability, and usability; and
  • meet legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

Sharing with universities and service providers

When you take a clearly identified enquiry or lead-generating action—such as saving a relevant programme or using an application link—UniSeek may share the information needed for the relevant verified institution to understand and respond to your interest. We do not sell personal information.

We may also use vetted providers for hosting, authentication, storage, email delivery, analytics, security, payments, and customer support. They may process information only to provide their contracted service. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business reorganization subject to appropriate safeguards.

Cookies and similar technologies

UniSeek uses cookies and similar storage where needed to maintain sessions, remember choices, protect accounts, and understand service performance. You can control cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or other core features from working.

Retention and account deletion

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including account operation, security, dispute prevention, and legal compliance. When an account is deleted, eligible personal data is removed or anonymized. Limited billing, audit, fraud- prevention, and legal records may be retained where necessary, with personal details minimized or anonymized where appropriate. Backups expire under their normal retention cycle.

Security and international processing

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including access controls, encryption in transit, and security monitoring. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in countries where UniSeek or its providers operate, subject to safeguards appropriate to the information and service.

Your rights and choices

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete your personal information, and may withdraw consent for future processing. You can update many account details in the service or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained where law or legitimate security and record-keeping needs require it.

Children and young users

UniSeek is intended for people able to use education-planning services under the laws that apply to them. If local law requires parent or guardian consent, the user must obtain it before submitting personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information without required authorization.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our services or legal responsibilities change. Material updates will be identified by a revised date and, where appropriate, an in-product or email notice. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected].
