About ENSAV La Cambre
Visit Official WebsiteFounded in 1927 by the pioneering modernist architect and designer Henry van de Velde under the name Institut supérieur des arts décoratifs (ISAD), the École nationale supérieure des arts visuels de La Cambre (ENSAV La Cambre) is one of Europe’s most revered, historically prestigious schools of art and design. Often heralded as the "Belgian Bauhaus" for its radical pedagogical model uniting fine arts with applied craftsmanship and industrial design, La Cambre is nestled within the serene, 13th-century Cistercian abbey grounds and formal terraced gardens of the Abbaye de La Cambre in Brussels. Governed as a public École supérieure des arts (ESA) under the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, La Cambre educates a highly selected cohort of approximately 850 students across 18 specialized artistic workshops, achieving global prominence in Fashion Design (La Cambre Mode[s]), Animation Film (Cinéma d’animation), Industrial Design, Scenography, and Art Conservation.
