About University of Liège
The University of Liège (Université de Liège - ULiège), founded in 1817 by King William I of the Netherlands, is the premier public research-intensive university in Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium. Educating over 27,000 students from more than 120 nations, ULiège combines more than two centuries of academic heritage with world-class scientific breakthroughs. ULiège is the only complete public university in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation directly funded under public law, comprising 11 faculties, 520 research units, and the cutting-edge University Hospital (CHU de Liège). The university operates across four specialized campuses: the historic Campus Centre-ville along the Meuse River (headquarters at Place du 20-Août and the AACSB/EQUIS-accredited HEC Liège Management School), the sprawling 750-hectare wooded Campus du Sart Tilman (home to Polytech Liège, Sciences, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and the Liège Space Center CSL), the historic Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech campus (anchored in a 10th-century Benedictine Abbey and recognized as Europe’s benchmark agronomic and bioscience engineering faculty), and Campus Arlon Environnement (dedicated to environmental management). A proud co-founder of the European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC), ULiège delivers internationally acclaimed, English-taught Master degrees in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, Business Engineering, and Agroecology.
