The University of West London (UWL) is a leading public university located in West London, England, widely acclaimed as "the Career University" for its resolute focus on professional employment, industry-aligned curricula, and vocational training excellence. Tracing its roots to 1860 with the founding of the Lady Byron School (later Ealing Technical College and School of Art), the institution evolved into the Polytechnic of West London in 1991, attained full university status in 1992 as Thames Valley University (TVU), and was renamed the University of West London in 2010. Following a transformative multi-million-pound campus redevelopment, UWL has established a formidable reputation, being named University of the Year for Social Inclusion and consistently ranking as the #1 university in London for overall student satisfaction and teaching quality in the National Student Survey. The university operates primarily across two connected campuses in West London—the flagship St Mary’s Road Campus in Ealing (housing the historic London College of Music founded in 1887, the London School of Film, Media and Design, Paul Hamlyn Library, Weston Hall, and the School of Law’s mock courtrooms) and the high-rise Brentford Campus at Paragon along the corporate "Golden Mile" (housing the Claude Littner Business School and the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare with state-of-the-art clinical simulation wards)—along with a specialized healthcare satellite at Fountain House in Reading, Berkshire. Serving as a crucial clinical training partner for the National Health Service (NHS) and international creative and hospitality industries, UWL combines modern industry-standard facilities with strong career networks.
